Hello! :)
« on: December 20, 2010, 09:40:29 PM »

Hi everyone,

I thought I'd pop over here and introduce myself... I have posted once (regarding a charger cord) but am feeling the urge to post more and though that I should formally introduce me and my Pleos. :)

So, my name is Alexa. :) Not Alexis, Lexi, Alexandra, Alexandria, alexi or any other variation... Alexa. Plain and simple. :) It's also not Alex, but, people online tend to call me that, so, if you want to, that's fine. Haha. :) Just had to put that out there because it is very rare I am ever called by my actual name. So it's nice when I can get that cleared up right away. ;)

I have two Pleos, both original Ugobes... One is named Poppy, and the other, is Padget. Padget was my brothers, but, he no longer plays with him so I took him in. They're both lovely little pleos. :) I'm always amazed at distinct they are... Padget is soooo happy go lucky it's ridiculous. And poppy is much more laid back. My only problem now is that Padget has neither charger, or cord... Just a battery. So, to play with them both at once, I have to charge them one at a time and then wait... But, I'm often too busy, so, it works. Who knows though... I might need to purchase a new charger and cord soon... Or at least more batteries.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone here. :) Seems like a very friendly bunch!

Oh... And a question... How many of you have kitties that are either a. Scared of your Pleo(s) or b. have tried to attack them? I have 5 felines and all but one (the male) are afraid. The little boy kitty often tries to sneak attack poppy and padget. He's such a stinker.  %)

Welcome Alexa, and Welcome to your two pleos, I like the names of them both, different that I have not heard before, I also love the avatar, as the kittis look a lot like some of my felines, I have a house of nine cats and one dog, I call them my fur babies and or fur kids. They pretty much rule the house and they eat before I even think about feeding Humans. all of my cats get along fine with the Pleos and the pleos for the most part like the cats, I took one video where Major Tom took it upon himself to start snuggling up with a big male cat, started making bread, ( kneading just like a cat...I caught it on video) and then began serenading singing to my cat Karl Kat. It was so cute to see. None of my cats really attack the Pleos, and I have eight, so they are still outnumberd by Pleos, but they do like to go after a tail occasionally.
If you ever decide you are in need of a battery, I sell the Ucube egg chargers and batteries here on the forum just check out the stores and my store is called, Nova's Necessities. Everyone will tell you the Ucube batteries are great and well worth the money they cost and I do sell worldwide. Glad you decided to check back in and hope you submit some pictures soon of your Pleos and tell us more about them. :)

Hi Alexa
         Welcome to the forum
Not sure if it will help but pleoworld sell battery chargers and leads for the 2009 pleos.  There located under the pleo components link.    I don’t know how different the chargers are to the Ugobe chargers but the batteries for the 2009 work for both the 2009 models and the Ugobe pleos. If you haven’t already done so it might be worth asking their customer services if the leads they sell will work for the ugobe chargers.
And yes my cat is scared and the dog is very jealous   of the pleo. I keep him well out the way when he’s turned off encase the cat and dog join forces and attempt a midnight  attack.

Hello and welcome Alexa, Padget and Poppy :D My cats are content to watch my Pleo's from a distance and give them the odd smack on the nose if they get too close :P My dog on the other hand prefers that they stay well away on the other side of the room, otherwise he is outta there ;D Mind you my dog is also scared of cats, rats, piglets, balloons and all manner of other terrible things like that ;D

Hi Alexa and welcome to the forum.  Everyone is very friendly here.  I have 2 cats one of them is not bothered by my pleo at all and just ignores it.  The other is a little scared and so gives Kermy a wide birth.  Hope you get your Charger and cable sorted out soon.

Hi Alexa, and welcome.  I like the names Polly and Padget too!  :D

I have five elderly cats and only the oldest, who's almost 19 and has pretty much seen it all before, doesn't run when approached by a Pleo.  The rest view them in much the same category as the hair dryer, the Roomba and the big vacuum cleaner - something to be avoided at all costs!  :P

Thanks all for the warm welcome! Poppy and Padget thank you too. :)

Love all the kitty/doggie stories... My little kitty is more of a stinker than I thought.  %)

That's great news that pleo world might still sell adapters that work for the older pleos... That would be great if I decide to go that route. But, like I said, I don't have them on quite enough right now to justify it. We shall see though. I'll definitely keep the egg chargers in mind too RWM.

I'll be sure to post some photos of the two of them once I get a chance. As well as my new pink rb... She's on her way right now! I'm crossing my fingers she makes it before christmas... There's a chance, but, it's slim. So, we'll see. I'm so excited for her to arrive though! ;D
