Hello  My name is Katie and I'm new to the Pleo forums. I've wanted a Pleo for about a year but my mom hasnt gotten convinced yet. Does anyone have any ideas of how to convince her?

Also, I'd LOVE to hear about your reactions to getting Pleo and your first experience with them Once and if I get mine I will share my reaction and experiences here also

And are there any things that I should watch out for to avoid from breaking Pleo? And can someone please list all of the pro's and con's of LifeOS 1.1 and how far after the birth I should download it?

Hi Katy Welcome, first of all the best way to convince your parents that you want anything is to start saving yourself. save up your pocket money and ask friends and family if they have any chores you can do.

Having a Pleo is like having a new puppy, you spend time with them and get to know them. They really are a wonderful robotic pet

As far as breakages go, as long as you don't drop them and you never ever EVER try to move their neck or tail by hand then you shouldn't have any major issues. Clothing to protect the paint on the back is a good idea though, the paint does wear even with extra care. The 1.1 OS is the best, most people here run it in their Pleo's. 1.0 was good too but Pleo wasn't as active. 2.0 is ok, but it has a few kinks.

Hello! Thanks, I'm trying to get my mom to give me some chores I can do at the moment actually 

Pleo definetely looks like a amazing robot, and I'm looking forward to getting one like crazy, I'm hoping ill save up enough for 2 Ucubes also, that would be pretty much constant play time 

Okay, thats awesome, I don't have to be over protective then I'm hoping eventually ill get some clothes, but if I get a Pleo AND 2 Ucubes, ill be totally broke. Maybe I can try to get some clothes for Christmas from one of my family members I'm planning to get LifeOS 1.1, is it safe to download it right after the birth, or should I wait for a couple more charges? Oh, and I'm hoping I can get a Pleo by Halloween so I can have him hatch at my family's Halloween party  The more people who get to watch the better

Probably best let let Pleo run through a charge or two before updating, both for safety and so you can experience the first OS too.

However if you are buying a brand new Pleo they'll will already be running the 1.1 so no updating will be necessary

Oohh, ok, thanks for telling me, I would of probably been trying to download it on one that already has it

If you buy one from someone how can you tell if its the newer or older one?
