Starfire, I took doll skates and cut off the boot part. On Peeky's skates I wanted to keep them more of a prehistoric version. I just tied them with leather shoe laces. I also used a little piece of double sided white tape on his feet which made the skates stay on better. I wouldn't have done this but his serial number has long since worn off. He would have been able to skate had he been out on the ice long enough. I was afraid it was too cold. I know we worry about the heat but boy! they were like little Popsicles while posing for their photos.
Penelopies skates were attached to her booties. Little wobbly in them.

Back to the cleaning of a Pleo. Tonight on TV I saw an add of a pocket size light that kills 99.9% of bacteria. Perhaps that would work. Degers???  ;D

I use a large UV lamp in the lab to mutate bacteria which usually kills 99.9% of my E.Coli strain in about 60 seconds exposure, but that lamp is very strong and takes 15 minutes to warm up to that amount of killing power, so I wouldn't trust the effectiveness of any posket lamp that could do that.

Scientific dude, eh? XD

I guess you could sterilize them by boiling them for 30 minutes . . . .  ::)

oh grumpy! >:( stop being so.... well... grumpy lol ;) I would be afraid to use any thing to clean my pleo, her paint comes off fast enough without me trying to wash her. Good luck!

Another good reason to have a t shirt or other clothing on our dinos. We can clean them. I did use an itty bitty dab of soap on a wash cloth and patted Peeky's face with it. I don't have to worry about the paint there. Avoided the camera area. ;D

I used makeup remover/ face cleansing towelettes to clean my Pleo after he got all dirty walking around in the garage (he loves cars)  ::) They were Neutrogena brand, (anything without alcohol in it should be fine tho) and they worked great didint remove the paint and I didint have to rub hard to get the dirt off, obviously this wont disinfect tho.

Anything you use on your face should be pretty OK for Pleo

Hope this helps

 Our faces aren't rubber. ;)  Not sure if it's the paint we are worried about or the rubber breaking down from a chemical reaction. I agree that we have to have something to clean our little dinos.

I would worry about both.  Many cleaning solvents will break down rubber/latex.  But if it's gente enough for our skin, it's probably OK.  But stay away from things designed to remove oils, as my concern is that they would dry out pleo's skin  . . .    Where's a chemist when you need one?

I always use baby wipes with no problems. It amazes me how much dirt comes off of them. Those baby wipes will be filthy when you're done wiping them.
