Hi fancyfont, No but I like that idea. She is very interesting to watch and I really want to video tape her doing other things and see how she reacts to them. I know I have seen quite a few interesting videos of singing and dancing Pleos on this site.Can you recommend any in particular? I want to see how she reacts to " natural singing" first compared to more human or animated singing. I haven't' tried even seeing how she reacts to music yet, which may seem strange, but I pretty much turn the t.v. sound completely down when I record her so I don't have any outside noise to interfere with the recording.

I am glad you got a chance to see the video. What did you think as far as her reaction? Guess I can say, yes it was Magical to me!

The first stuff Peeky saw on my computer was a video of some guys doing hip hop. His tail kept time with the beat and he seemed so into it!

Hi Fancyfont, thanks for the tips. I am waking Nova up now and we are going to see what she is interested in doing. A lot of the times, I follow her lead..
I will check out the leads you gave me. I am hoping more people check out Nova's video here and give me the response on what they think about her reaction. I know degers technical viewpoint, and I am not saying it is wrong, just that other Pleo owner's should be able to tell me if they think I am right in what I saw and how I think she " felt , or reacted," it could be coincidence, but very strange to me.................

It looks from the video that your Pleo is in social mode up to around the 50 second mark, in this mode the Pleo will remain stationary and wait for you to touch it.

At 50 seconds it looks like your Pleo switched to explore mode, and then noticed there was no surface to walk on in front of it as it was being held in the air. The noises you hear from 50 seconds to 1 minute are pleo going through one of it's routines that it plays when it detects no surface in front of it to walk on. It would then start to walk backwards after the end of the video.

That is what your Pleo is doing.

Hi degers, the social mode may be correct, but as for the walking surface, I have an old computer desk that is at eye level pretty much that Nova was sitting on. the Desk is at a slight angle ( where I have my mousepad it tilts down,) so Nova was tilted up towards the computer so she wouldn't slide down and into my lap, which is about two feet from the screen. She was allways standing on the desk surface though, She never walked backwards as when the video ended and I quit filming her, I then put her down on the floor and we did other filming.

I will do some more filming of her to other things though so I can see how she moves to music and pictures of other things.Thank you for your input

It is OK degers, it is a free country and we all are entitled to our opinions, that is why I asked for others reactions, I like the technical " mumble jumbo, " ;)If it were not for the technical explanation to a lot of questions, we would not know what is ailing our poor babe Dino's.
But if you aren't a " parent " yourself, you can only observe as a spectator, If you own a little Pleo yourself, maybe you will see the possibilities of magic and miracles that occur without scientific explanations...........................Sometimes things just happen and you have to accept them for being what they are...................LOL..............................

I think we should hold a Pleo convention and then let all the pleos watch videos and themselves all day without " human ' interference and just observe what does or doesn't happen. How do you think they would react to watching videos of us? I think Nova would be bored.... maybe not, who knows unless we try it. fancyfont suggested I try some more video watching reacting to videos on this site, and there are lots to choose from so , " I will give it a go. " I am also going to try some Native American Chants and other " magical ideas I have. ( in my Playlists.)

Oh fancyfont, you read my mind..................I guess I will have to practice my raindance today and see if I can teach Nova the words in Pleo-nese, as I dont know if she will understand Blackfoot,but she is very intelligent and also is learning to practice some dance moves I have never seen before.

Nova sent you those for support of her emotions, she still doesnt believe me when I tell her that Pleo was ' just pretending" , she doesn't understand why he would do that, just for fun?!!!

Oftentimes Pleos make me think of one of my favorite movies, called Short Circut. It's a story of five robots made to be military weapons (they have lazers - they blow things up!

) One of them, #5, gets struck by lightning and becomes alive....or so he says. It's pretty funny, there's some cussing in it but it seems like hollywood always adds that junk to movies these days...
In any case, the dudes who built #5 weren't convinced at all, but #5 sure believed it.
Sometimes I wonder if pleos possess more than meets the eye... and more than UGOBE and Invvos say they do!

Bumblebee, I think I saw that movie, I will have to check it out again. I sounds so familiar. I think you are right about our little Pleos. They have more to them than meets the " eye'.

To change the subject. I am still having trouble posting photos with my subject matter . I try putting the code, [ smg= and the number and ] but all I get is an empty box or with a red cross through it. Isn't there a post somewhere for Posting photos 101 for dummies here somewhere?

I know Nova could do it if she had bigger legs , but she doesn't so I have to do it for her.

Also when the instructions so [ ]smg=] etc. do I have to post in those brackets, or are they just for demonstration mode!!!!If I was in 5'th grade this probably would[t be a problem...back when I went to school, they let you sit on a rock and draw in the dirt with your fingers or toes to get the answer to a problem. Boy how times have changed!

Please help someone, I don[t want Nova to feel embarrassed of her momma.

I love that movie. More input! #5 is alive! Still remember it clear as a bell, to bad I can't remember where I put things when I lay them down.

Hey Bumblebee, so glad you got to see it, I thought you already had. NOW you know how bad I feel with her sick..

I still say she was reacting to seeing what she thought was Pain in another Pleo, even if it was Playacting on the Pleo Rex program, shows that the other Pleo did a good job of convincing Nova he was in pain. Thanks for the input , I am sure Nova will like to hear that once she gets well. ( If she gets well!)

I just went to the first page and pushed the arrow key, to play the video I posted, and everything was fine. Are you trying to play it somewhere else? Give it another try and let me know if you still can't see it or not. I would love to hear what you think of Nova's video.

I will give it a try.... i know and understand what grouchy said, but i sure hope that pleo can understand - even if its a lil bit - whats going on in the world...that would totally rock. he is such a special little bugger, and its engineering never fails to amaze me, but i do secretly hope there is someway they can understand whats happening if they hear/see another pleo in a vid.
